Mabel

Mabel was told she could never return to the luxury boarding kennel we take Duffy to when we're out of town, because she howled too much. We weren't big Basset Hound fans, but Mabel changed that. We kept her for the second time last week, & she's a sweet, cuddly, happy girl. It takes her 3X longer than Duffy, to get up & down the stairs & I'm always trying to figure out if she's standing up or lying down. She was much more vocal this time, lots of grunting, groaning, whining & talking. We're not used to a vocal dog & I spent a lot of time checking on her. She would smile & wag her tail each time, so I think she just wanted attention & missed her family which includes two little boys. Her owners told us that their neighbors complain that she's very noisy during the day while they're not at home. So, I'm not taking it personally & will learn to tune her out next time. I'm very glad Duffy is quiet & my dog has gas.

St. Pat's

"The curse of the Irish is not that they don't know the words to a song......it's that they know them all." Susan Dooley.

Since Duffy is a Soft Coated Wheaten & therefore Irish, St. Patrick's Day is a big deal for him. He likes to put on his shamrock tee shirt & have us take him to the local parade where he visits with his Jack Russell & Irish Wolf Hound friends. We had a great time & I know Duffy really enjoyed it because he was very happy & jolly when we got home. Now that I think about it, that was Guinness I smelled on his breath, no wonder he napped all afternoon & my dog has gas.

Oh - oh

As Duffy was sniffing "hello" to a little dog in our neighborhood park, he accidentally stepped on little dog's tail. Oh-oh, little dog was very upset about it. Fortunately, little dog's person was very understanding & my dog has gas.
