So Computer Illiterate, It's Pitiful

It has been 4 years since my last blog and I'm not sure I can still do it, I'm so computer/iPhone illiterate. I suggested to my niece that we start again because I really enjoyed reading her blog. She agreed and was to go first but nothing yet, so it is now her turn. Your turn Alissa! I will now try to post this and to remember the title of her blog........4 years and so many brain cells have been lost.....and my dog has gas.

New Kid on the Block

There is now a dog in every house on our cul-de-sac. There's Marley the Standard Poodle, Ace the Labrador, our McDuff the Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier, and now, Lola the Pug. I wasn't a big Pug fan until I met Lola, now I'm a big Pug fan. Her name started out as Violet, but her family decided she looked more like a Lola. She loves to cuddle & falls asleep in your arms. When she falls asleep, her tail relaxes & uncurls from its' little corkscrew. She's a cutie & my dog has gas.

Black Eye Please

I managed to walk into the closed sliding glass door the other evening. I was looking through the glass at my kitchen floor as I came in from the backyard & obviously thought the door was open. Walking at a pretty good speed, my left eyebrow made contact first & then the full length of my nose, before my head bounced backwards, counteracting my body's forward momentum. My husband was right behind me & actually said "what are you doing?" I turned to inquire about his question, but could tell something was going on with my face, by the look on his face & in a matter of 15 seconds a golf ball sized lump was on my eyebrow. Iced until frostbitten, it finally decreased to Neanderthalish proportions, but I have a black eye & it's growing daily! Bruises take forever to go away & I have a feeling I'll be sporting this one for awhile & my dog has gas.

The $1,400.00 Snack

So, I put Ellie's medicine where Duffy could get it & eat 20 or 30 pills & it was a mistake I won't make again. Got him to the vet's fast enough & he was treated & watched all day & we moved him to the emergency animal hospital that night to be monitored. He never exhibited any ill effects, but we weren't going to take any chances & he's just fine.... but $1400? That was an expensive snack & my dog has gas.

Mabel

Mabel was told she could never return to the luxury boarding kennel we take Duffy to when we're out of town, because she howled too much. We weren't big Basset Hound fans, but Mabel changed that. We kept her for the second time last week, & she's a sweet, cuddly, happy girl. It takes her 3X longer than Duffy, to get up & down the stairs & I'm always trying to figure out if she's standing up or lying down. She was much more vocal this time, lots of grunting, groaning, whining & talking. We're not used to a vocal dog & I spent a lot of time checking on her. She would smile & wag her tail each time, so I think she just wanted attention & missed her family which includes two little boys. Her owners told us that their neighbors complain that she's very noisy during the day while they're not at home. So, I'm not taking it personally & will learn to tune her out next time. I'm very glad Duffy is quiet & my dog has gas.

St. Pat's

"The curse of the Irish is not that they don't know the words to a song......it's that they know them all." Susan Dooley.

Since Duffy is a Soft Coated Wheaten & therefore Irish, St. Patrick's Day is a big deal for him. He likes to put on his shamrock tee shirt & have us take him to the local parade where he visits with his Jack Russell & Irish Wolf Hound friends. We had a great time & I know Duffy really enjoyed it because he was very happy & jolly when we got home. Now that I think about it, that was Guinness I smelled on his breath, no wonder he napped all afternoon & my dog has gas.

Oh - oh

As Duffy was sniffing "hello" to a little dog in our neighborhood park, he accidentally stepped on little dog's tail. Oh-oh, little dog was very upset about it. Fortunately, little dog's person was very understanding & my dog has gas.
